So I’ve been playing around with 7 for exactly a week now since the VLK version reached me last Friday and I must say I am thoroughly impressed with how refined the operating system is. So far, I’ve had very little issues regarding compatibility, security, etc. By the way, Windows 7 is FAST – even on my 2 year old laptop.

Internet Explorer 8 is also FAST. In fact, the theme of this blog is FAST. It’s strange since even on a fresh Vista install, IE8 tended to take a few seconds to load, then a few seconds to pull up my homepage (bing.com) and then chugs around a bit if I go to a content intensive website. Now, IE8 opens up and loads bing.com all in about 1 second. Other webpages pull up fast too. That and I haven’t encountered any of those annoying browser-plug-in-crashes that plagued Vista and IE7 launch (*cough* Adobe Flash *cough*).

Sorry for the lack of updates these past two weeks. I’ve been very busy with work and trying to find a new place to lease. I’m looking forward to next Friday as I will have two full weeks off. According to the Microsoft newsletter,

Rumor has it that Windows 7 in reaching RTM status tomorrow, July 13. That means I should be getting a copy of the final build possibly sometime this week. More info when I do. Also, Office 2010 is also supposed to be announced tomorrow. Stay tuned!
